We have been providing remote NVQ options for our students throughout the pandemic, allowing them to complete their qualification whilst maintaining social distancing. Now, as restrictions are being lifted we are going to continue to offer remote style NVQ assessments. This means that we can provide this service for trainee electricians across the entire country!

Electrician courses

This will work in the exact same way the traditional process. The difference being the site visitations. Usually we would send one of our instructors to your place of work on two separate occasions to judge your competence, assess and compare your ability to the industry standard. Instead these visits will be done through video call software.

How does an NVQ work?

The NVQ process is pretty straightforward. The first aspect is video calls to simulate work/site based assessment. Secondly, you will need to put together a portfolio, collecting evidence of work on the job in the form of photos and videos.

Electrician courses

You will create an E-Portfolio through the Learning Assistant e-portfolio system with City & Guilds. you will need to put together different forms of evidence including things like; photographic evidence of work being undertaken, written evidence from whoever you are working aside, documents like risk assessments and so on.

Finally, an AM2 Assessment or Assessment Measurement 2 is required. You can take on this assessment at a local centre and we will help you find an appropriate place to do so. Our remote NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification is the perfect way to meet the requirements for a JIB Gold Card and gain your status as a fully-qualified electrician.

If you not currently training to become a fully-qualified electrician, then take a look at our Gold Card Approved Electrician package as it includes all of the electrical courses needed to achieve 'Gold Status'! This status means you will receive a gold coloured CSCS card that identifies you as a fully-qualified electrician within the industry.
