Now, being new in this sector can be daunting at first - if you have little to no knowledge on the subject then the best way to start is to take on an Introduction to Basic Domestic Electrics. This course will give you a foundation to build on in terms of knowledge and ability, the course is 10-days and will consider the major subjects and basics such as; Ohms law & power triangles, identification of earthing systems, an introduction to legislation surrounding electrical installation in dwellings, installations and much more!

As you can see we provide all the materials you could possibly need, you don't need to buy or bring anything with you when taking one of our electrical courses.

Upon completion of the Introductory course, if you are intending on becoming a professional in the trade then the best path would be to take our complete package - our Gold Card Approved Electrician course. This course is the ultimate package of electrical training and includes all the essential courses like;  City & Guilds level 2 (7-weeks), City & Guilds level 3 (7-weeks), 18th edition & PAT Testing.

Now after successful completion, you are JIB Gold Card approved! When you are working within the industry, the work-based assessments can be arranged and at any time you feel ready, you can arrange to come in and sit for the AM2 assessment.

Flexible training options:

Here at Able Skills, we know it can be difficult to commit to a full-time course that lasts for 7-weeks or more so we have devised alternative study methods. These include being able to study on weekends, which will give people with prior arrangements or an existing job a chance to study on the side to possibly eventually switch careers. Weekend courses work in the exact same way as a regular weekday course, you will gain the same qualification, the only difference is that the total about of days will be split into weekends. For example, if a course is 40-days in total it could be completed over a period of 20-weekends!

We also offer home-study options! This home learning option should not affect your personal or financial circumstances as it is completed at your own pace and on a pay as you go basis. This course can be fitted in around your normal working life, allowing you the benefit of re-training to change your career. You will learn the theory in your own time and come to our training centre to complete assessments and so on. See more information on that here - Home Study Electrics Level 2.
