Tradespersons who have taken an electrical training course could heighten the quality of a new construction scheme, which was announced this week.

According to Morgan Ashurst, it has been named on a contract worth £6.3 million to design and build a development of apartments and offices in central London.

The eight-storey Gee Street structure will consist of "attractive brickwork", which could offer employment to local bricklayers, as well as curtain walling, timber and mixed aluminium.

Furthermore, workers with approved electrical or plumbing qualifications could help the firm achieve an Excellent BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating.

The firm has revealed that it will install solar panels, low-energy lifts and energy-efficient ventilation.

It was recently announced that the group has won work on another project, which it hopes will be similarly beneficial for the environment.

The firm has been awarded a 4.3 million contract to construct an eco-friendly school in Wallasey, Wirral.
