Green plumbing solutions are booming despite Covid-19!

The pandemic has had it's effects on all of us. However there are brighter times ahead with the rollout of vaccines and hopefully for us that means a return to what we do best - Helping people gain the trade skills and knowledge they need. Plumbing is one of the most popular trades, although it took a hit at the start the future could mean a strong revival for the industry and today let's look at green plumbing solutions and how you can start training right now, despite lockdown!

Why is green plumbing important?
Not to mention the environmental benefits - The UK's residential central heating market is huge, with an estimated total value of around £1.2 billion at manufacturers’ prices in 2020. However, over recent years this market has benefited from more stringent energy efficiency legislation and the introduction of new technologies such as smart heating controls. The UK a couple years ago now became the first major economy to pass laws to end its contribution to global warming, requiring the UK to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. As a result, it is likely that the type of products used to centrally heat UK residential homes will change considerably and this transition has already begun.
Here at Able Skills we provide comprehensive training options that result in industry-recognised qualifications!
What does this mean for plumbers?
As a working plumber this is fantastic news. This can only have positive effects on the plumbing and heating industry as it means more demand and more opportunities available. For example, all new build homes will need to be future proofed with low carbon heating and world leading levels of energy efficiency. It's also guaranteed, as the government has a plan in action meaning the work will need to be conducted no matter what giving plumbers an even better feeling of job security. This could also mean increased earnings for those with the qualifications to carry out the work.
How can I start training towards a plumbing career in lockdown?
Currently we cannot host in-centre training, however, our Level 2 Home-Study Plumbing course is a fantastic alternative that allows you to get started from the comfort of your own home.
