The Level 2 Plumbing Course at Able Skills has become very popular for full-time and weekends, so we have added a new weekend date for August!
Our plumbing and gas courses are extremely popular here at Able Skills and the demand for courses has risen massively. The skills shortage has been a major factor in the rise in our qualification plumbing course as more people are looking to start new careers.
Due to the skills shortage, we have seen lots of people deciding to retrain and start a new career as they have seen the opportunity to get work in one of the trades. Plumbing is up there with one of the most popular trades as more Plumbers are needed due to the increased building work up and down the country.
The perfect starting point for any hopeful Plumber is the Level 2 Plumbing Course, this is a six-week course incorporating theory and practical training and online exams and practical assessments.
However, here at Able Skills we understand that taking six weeks out of work can be extremely tricky for some people. Therefore, we offer other pathways of learning, such as weekends training courses and home study courses.

Over the past few years our home study plumbing course has become a very popular route of training for our students. The home study course allows the students to complete all their theory work at home during their own time. When they feel ready to complete their practical week they can book a week’s practical training, overall four weeks of practical training is required. Also, in this time they will complete their online exams in our dedicated exam room.
Our weekend option of training is slightly longer, all training is completed at our centre in Dartford. Training is worked on a two weekends on, two weekends off basis. This is a perfect option for our students to complete their training and fit it around their working lives. Also, payments for the course are spread over a longer period.
The weekend plumbing course has become extremely popular due to its flexible nature and this has meant we have had to add a new date in for this year. Our next available weekend course begins on Saturday 5th August.
We also run short plumbing courses for people looking to get a basic knowledge of plumbing.
