Tradespersons who have approved electrical qualifications might find their services in demand to assist with a new Morgan Ashurst project.

It was revealed by the building firm yesterday (January 18th) that it has been named as preferred bidder on a £7 million scheme for the University of Central Lancashire.

The project will involve the construction of the JB Firth Building, which will house the schools of Forensic & Investigative Sciences and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

In addition, the building will include four laboratories and two chemistry rooms, as well as an analytical and fire study space.

Morgan Ashurst is hoping to achieve an Excellent (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) and will add eco-friendly features such as a solar water collection system and rain water harvesting.

Professionals with approved electrical qualifications could find themselves needed to implement these upgrades or work more generally on the building's electrical systems.

The company employs more than 1,800 people in the UK.
