Over the past few months we have seen a huge increase in students coming to our centre to train as Tilers. It is one of the many trades that currently has a skills shortage and we are seeing lots of students bridging the gap in the tiling skills shortage.
We offer a variation of tiling courses here at Able Skills from shorter courses to City & Guilds qualifications, Diplomas and NVQs. It is quickly becoming one of the most popular trades available here at Able Skills. We are fully booked until June and we are expecting the demand for courses to increase even more.
With the skills shortage still affecting the construction industry as a whole. Tilers are just some of the workers that are needed on building sites across the UK. We believe that this is influencing the popularity of our tiling courses as many people are looking at it as an opportunity to get training and start a whole new career. The skills shortage has also seen wages rise as builders of all trades are in demand, therefore an incentive for people to get training in a skilled trade.
Out of all the courses available the NVQ Level 2 Tiling Course is without doubt one of the most popular. This is an intense and very well structured practical training course that eventually enables our students to gain an NVQ. The NVQ is needed so they can get a CSCS Skilled workers card and without a CSCS Card they will not be able to get work on a building site. This course also includes one week of training in our plastering centre.
Also, we offer a range of shorter tiling courses here at Able Skills that may be of interest to people looking to get a basic skill set or even start carrying out some private jobs in people’s homes. From the Introduction course to three-week and four-week DIY courses.
