Dry lining is the use of plasterboard on timber or metal frames and due to the pre-finished nature of most board systems, dry lining is uncomplicated to learn.
The term dry lining applies to the use of plasterboard to replace a sand and cement or wet plaster finish to internal block work, although it’s use has become more broadly associated with internal fit out throughout a building.
Other advantages to using dry lining systems include the fact that the use of lightweight partitions result in a lighter building which can benefit the specification of the foundations. Dry Lining systems also provide properties with greater flexibility in designing and changing the internal shape of a property as needs change.
In addition, dry lining systems also give flexibility in the choice of insulation materials, which may not be available with conventional building methods. In timber frame, dry lining is the preferred method of building.
Dry lining is growing in popularity at a remarkable rate and the demand for trained, skilled dry liners is on the increase. We aim to help fill the gap in the industry by providing these Dry Lining and Metal Stud Partitioning training courses.
The courses we have designed can be completed individually or as a package dependent upon whether you want to spend 2, 5 or 7 days with us learning Dry Lining or erecting Metal Stud Partitioning.
Whichever option you choose, we will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to carry out Dry lining to industry standards, both training options are suitable for anyone who requires training in Dry lining.
During these courses, we will ensure that you have a good working knowledge of health and safety requirements for Dry lining, including the use of correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
You will be able to interpret drawings and specifications to identify material requirements, select and prepare appropriate materials, prepare backgrounds to receive finishes and install components and materials for accuracy and finish.
We are keen to help and guide all individuals on the right path and offer support and assistance along the way. Should you venture into a career covering Dry lining; Able Skills will endeavour to guide you on the path to achieving an NVQ in Interior Systems.
Able Skills is an approved NVQ Assessment Centre in both Interior Systems NVQs:
