Welcome to Able Skills Dry Lining and Skimming Course

Due to popular demand, we have devised this course combining dry lining and skimming which will enable you to learn both skills, covering different but related subjects.

This course is designed to give you a good understanding in all areas of Dry Lining and Skimming walls and ceilings.

Dry Lining: (2 day - week ends)

The course will cover:

• The correct method of measuring, cutting and fixing plasterboard to a timber structure.
• How to fix difficult obstacles, door and window returns, splayed walls and ceilings
• The use of several taping methods, taper, fibre and metal corners
• How to apply and bed in these tapes
• How to 'feather out' joints and sand down to form walls and ceilings ready for decoration.

2 Day Dry Lining course £195 All Inclusive

Skimming: (2 day - week ends)

The course will cover:

• Cutting and setting beads
• Skimming walls
• Applying PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces
• Skimming ceilings

2 Day Skimming Course £195 All Inclusive

You will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout the course. It is therefore essential you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential.

All tools and materials are supplied, explained and demonstrated.

At the end of your Dry Lining and Skimming course you will receive an Able Building Skills Certificate of completion, and you will also have a portfolio of the stages of the work you have carried out during the period you have trained with us. This may assist you in gaining employment at a later stage.
