At Able Skills we aim to cater for everyone looking to learn Painting & Decorating and we aim to cover everyone’s decorating needs.
Whether you are looking to learn decorating for your own personal project or want to learn aspects of painting & decorating leading to a career change, Able Skills can provide you with the training you may be lacking to help you on your way.
We pride ourselves on the standard of instructors we have and our Decorating instructor is no exception. Mark has spent years working within the industry, he then made the move to teaching but also continued his work within the industry, keeping up to date with decorating trends, eco friendly paints and the ever important, Health and Safety laws. Our instructor is therefore able to provide you with everything you need to know about the real world of P&D so that you are fully prepared for any eventuality. At the same time, he has the experience, patience and organisational skills required to teach in a very effective manner.
Able Skills has designed a variety of courses to cater for everyone from DIYers to those of you interested in working in the industry. Throughout your training time on Able Skills courses, we will look to cover as many aspects as we can in order for you to fully understand what is required to produce an excellent finish. In addition to teaching you all aspects of preparation, accessing, painting and paper hanging, we will also ensure that you are able to understand the correct way to estimate quantities and provide you with guidance on the appropriate tools and materials to be used in every situation.
If you are considering a career in the Painting & Decorating industry, we can support and progress you through the NVQ process. We have Assessors available to steer you in the right direction regarding the kind of work you should be looking to undertake and the kind of evidence you need to obtain to build a comprehensive NVQ portfolio. Sometimes there is no need for On Site assessments as long as your portfolio evidence meets all the criteria of the NVQ code of practice.
We welcome visitors to Able Skills; you do not need to make an appointment. Come and see our facilities, chat to our instructors and decorating students, you will be pleasantly surprised by what we have available for you and we are confident that following your visit, you will choose to learn decorating at Able Skills. Which level you choose is entirely up to you, there is so much choice. Whatever course in decorating you choose to learn, you can be guaranteed that the level of training you receive will be equal to all, regardless of whether you stay here for 2 days or 6 weeks.
