When hiring an electrician it is important to hire a qualified electrician. Today we will look at some things to keep in mind to ensure you are hiring the right professional.

Apparently, 36% of people rely on recommendations from friends and family when it comes to choosing an electrician to carry out work in the home. Which is great but here are some tips on how to find a good electrician in your local area...

When hiring an electrician in 2021 it's easy to see their reputation online. Many electrician work on a self-employed basis and run a limited company which can be searched for on Google. Google reviews are a great way to get a basic idea of their reputation. Whether it's through Google Reviews, Trust pilot, Rated people or anywhere else online.

Electrician courses

Make sure the electrician you are hiring holds the right qualifications. Look for City & Guilds qualifications, these are industry standard. If the electrician is full qualified they will be carrying a CSCS Gold card. Don't hesitate to ask to see their ID, legitimate electricians will have their card on them if they are fully-qualified in the trade.

Don't always go for the cheapest option. When considering different quotes from your shortlisted electricians, don't pick the cheapest one. Read through the quote carefully to ensure that you end up picking the best person for your job. Anything that sounds too good to be true usually is.

There is a wide range of jobs and tasks in the electrical trade. Electricians do not always prefer different jobs and will specialise in certain tasks. Things like whether they do 24-hour emergency callouts and so on is important to know. Do your research and hire the right electrician for your specific needs.
