The first step will be our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course! This course will be an opportunity for you to gain a recognised qualification and will teach you everything you need to become a qualified plumber. This course is taught by our talented instructors, who have years of experience both teaching and working out in the industry. You will start with the very basics, supposing that of the introductory course and progress to a comprehensive understanding of domestic plumbing covering both theory and practice to enable you to work successfully as a Plumber.
This course will mostly involve hands-on training but is a complete mix of both practical and theory. To complete this course you will need to complete both a practical assessment and online exams that will be taken here at our centre. Separate exams both practical and online will show that you have learned both the practical skill itself and that you have absorbed all of the theory surrounding the trade of plumbing. We will provide you with everything when training here, you don’t need to bring anything with you when you are training with us including a level 2 Plumbing reference book - All you need to bring with you is your focus and a pair of steel toe cap boots!

What’s next?

If you complete this course (City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course) then you have a few options in front of you, one of which is picking up an NVQ or National Vocational Qualification. This is a work based commentary test, meaning that you will have to be in employment to complete. However, with your new-found qualification, you should be able to find this employment to be able to move towards achieving an NVQ. The way it works is one of our plumbing assessors will visit you on two separate occasions and asses your ability, quickness and to see if you can complete a job correctly to industry standards.
Once you begin working and achieving an NVQ you may begin working in the typical ‘gig’ style of trading or you may become self-employment. When plumbers work self-employed they tend to seek extra skills to expand their arsenal and earn extra money. One of the most popular routes that plumbers take is picking up the trade of Gas! Now we know this and actually have specific courses for this particular route. Our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 2, for example, is in place for working plumbers to become acquainted with the trade of Gas. This course package includes a 5-week training program, work placement/portfolio completion and an ACS assessment…All of which are needed to become Gas Safe Registered.
