What is the Gas Safe Register?

The Gas Safe Register is the gas registration body of gas businesses and engineers in the United Kingdom! Their aim is to keep the public and engineers themselves safe whilst working in the world of gas. Everybody who works with gas legally needs to be registered with them, maintaining a list of those deemed responsible to carry out Gas related work, is essential to ensure only those who are qualified engineers are licensed to legally work on gas. They also investigate reports of illegal gas work and generally work in an effort to reduce illegal and irresponsible use of Gas and raise awareness for general Gas safety!

What is Gas Saftey Week?

The Gas Safe Register work all year round to keep the public as safe as possible from dodgy gas installations and illegal workers, however, they dedicate this week in September to raising awareness...Gas Safety Week is an annual safety week to raise awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of your gas appliances. It is coordinated by Gas Safe Register, the official list of gas engineers who are legally allowed to work on gas. This is all in an aim to protect people from the dangers of gas such as; Badly fitted and poorly serviced gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. CO is a highly poisonous gas that can kill quickly with no warning, as you cannot see it, taste it or smell it.
