What does a Gas Engineer do?

Today we will be talking about what a gas engineer does on a daily basis, what the job involves and how you can become on with the help of our training, instructors and excellent facilities.

Gas Safe Registered Engineer.

What do they do?

Well...on a day-to-day basis you’ll be responsible for installing, servicing and repairing your client’s gas appliances and heating systems. The sorts of appliances you may work with include boilers, cookers, central heating systems or gas fires. There are a few different roles under this title the most common is the traditional domestic Gas Engineer who you would call out when you have a problem such as a faulty boiler, however, think about all of the companies, shops, schools, facilities and so on that need heating you could also work on sites like these and many more! Gas is a serious commodity and is serious work, small faults could cause huge problems so you’ll need to have a keen eye and great attention to detail as well as interpersonal skills as you will be working alongside other engineers or talking to clients. Engineers can also work on a self-employed basis which is what makes the trade attractive to most aspiring Gas Engineers!

Our New Entrant Gas Training Package 2 is the most all-inclusive package for new entrants and will give you all of the knowledge, practical skills and further understanding that you will need to begin working on-site. There are three aspects of this course; 7-weeks of hands-on training, portfolio completion and an ACS assessment!
