Already have plumbing experience?

Gas work & Plumbing go hand in hand as they require some of the same skills and use similar methods, equipment and so on. We also offer Gas courses that are tailored to those who already have an understanding of Plumbing but are looking to add Gas to their arsenal!

This is a quicker route to becoming fully qualified in Gas work and is only available to those who hold a recognised qualification in the mechanical services engineering sector (e.g. plumbing) but lack gas training and experience. You must show evidence of your Plumbing qualifications before stating this Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 5-week course.

Access and entry to the Gas industry has previously been known to be a long-drawn-out process, typically taking at least 2 years. However, there are now quicker ways to access the gas industry and there is no longer the requirement to spend years at College before even being considered for the industry. Able Skills has everything you need to get on the path towards becoming 'Gas Safe Registered'.

What is the Gas Safe Register?

Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey, appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register! The purpose of this registration body is to ensure that the public and the engineer are safe. They do this by inspecting the work of Gas Safe registered engineers and investigating reports of illegal gas work. Additionally keeping the list up-to-date and accurate means that they can keep unqualified workers out of the industry.
