Another week getting Electrician courses back on track!

Here at Able Skills, we are getting Electrician courses back on track. This week is no different, today we have another group of City & Guilds Level 2 students putting in the work at our centre as well as students taking on their 2391-52 also known as our Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing. Of course, these students are experiencing a very different training centre, with smaller groups, separated workstations to ensure social distancing, PPE and overall a very clean centre, we are ensuring a safe space for students to work within, over the weekend again we have had a deep clean throughout including coronavirus fogging which we will now be implementing on a regular basis.

Workstations are now separated in terms of being equipped with tools so that students are not using the same tools as one another.

We are slowly but surely getting everyone back to normal in terms of receiving their training here at our centre. However, it is important that we do not rush this process. We do not want to be a part of spreading the virus in any way and we are doing our best to ensure this is not the case. If you are looking to get started training as soon as possible then you may want to think about taking on one of our 'Home-Study' courses or looking into our Virtual training options. Both allow you to get started with the theory side of either the Level 2 or Level 3 Electrician training qualification at home.

These options work in a similar way, the difference is that Home-Study courses allow you to work through a provided pack at your own pace, you'll have access to the online learning platform 'Smartscreen' and contact with an instructor but this option is really about sitting down and studying provided materials whereas the Virutal training involves being in group calls online with fellow students and an instructor to work through the materials as well as referring to videos. Both options resulting in the same qualification and eventually require 4-weeks for Level 2 & 3-weeks for Level 3 of at centre practical training and time for the completion of assessments.

As the weeks pass we will be looking to get more and more courses back to where they should be, of course, the number of students will still be lowered, however it is important that we provide the training that we have been providing for many years. So far, we have training being carried out for our Plumbing Courses, Gas Courses and Electrical Courses. Students on these courses are being encouraged to be aware of what they are doing around the centre, what they touch and hand sanitizer is now available throughout. Unfortunately, we are not able to begin construction training just yet, that includes courses such as Bricklaying courses and Plastering courses which should be returning safely from August 3rd.
