As you will know social distancing measures are being eased at the moment, you may have even grabbed a pint on the 4th! Electrician courses at Able Skills.
So, which courses are running? At the moment we have a group of Level 2 students and Level 3 students. We are also providing 18th Edition courses and more courses will be returning very soon. We also have courses that can start outside of the classroom and away from our centre. Our Home Study Electrics Level 2, for example, allows you to learn the theory side of a qualification at home, then attend the centre at a later date to learn the practical side. This works by effectively replacing the instructor with our trusted 'Home-Study Pack' which includes all of the theory, test questions, calculations and more.
Looking to become an electrician?
Learning to become an electrician can seem like a difficult task, however, our instructors understand how to convey the lessons they learnt out in the industry to our students in an easy and understandable manner. Over the period of 7-weeks, our City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Course will help you to progress from the basics to more advanced aspects of the trade, additionally, the course will also provide an understanding of the Health & Safety requirements governing electrical installation processes, and knowledge of the organisation and structure of the electrical industry.

What's next? Well, the next natural progression from the Level 2 course is our City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Course...This qualification is required if you are looking to progress within the Electrical industry or if you are looking to move on and achieve NVQ level 3. Over the 7-weeks on this course, you will look to gain a deeper and more refined understanding of the trade including a hands-on appreciation for the intricacies of electrical installation. As an aspiring electrician, you will also need to gain a solid grasp of the latest wiring regulations so that you know the industry's ideals when it comes to the safety measures needed to make sure you are working competently and completing tasks that withstand the test of time. Our 5-day 18th Edition course will enable you to gain familiarity with the layout, content and application of BS 7671:2018 - 18th Edition Regulations.
Is the centre safe?
As we said, the social distancing measures seem to be relaxing here in London and the surrounding areas, however, here at Able Skills we take the health and safety of both our students and staff very seriously and have been working hard to ensure that we are doing everything we can to provide a reliable, clean and safe learning environment. We already have social distancing measures in place; keeping students separate, fogging the entire centre, hand sanitiser located throughout, PPE, lower numbers of students etc. We will continue to adhere to the government advice and aim to provide a helpful and effective space for students to develop their trade skills.
