What does this mean for construction as a whole? The construction industry will thrive regardless!

Nearly all the ministers working with the construction sector until yesterday have been booted from government as part of new prime minister Boris Johnson’s sweeping Cabinet changes. Housing secretary James Brokenshire has been replaced by Robert Jenrick, while housing minister Kit Malthouse has been succeeded by Esther McVey.

The government must figure out issues that matter to the construction and house building sectors. In these uncertain economic times, some continuity would have been helpful!

Boris Johnson’s Cabinet clear-out hits construction\

However, it seems, in the long run, the construction sector will be stronger than ever! There is no risk to job opportunities, livelihood, wages etc. In fact, the statistics show that construction wages across the board are still on the increase!

Job opportunities are on the up & up...There are so many diffrent housing schemes propping up at the moment that are employing thousands of people and there isn't anything stopping those plans going ahead.

Want to get into construction?

If you want to get some construction training, it's still one of the best times in history to get qualified! Wages are up in every trade, construction itself is on the rise and the skills gap means that you will not be short of opportunities!

This is particularly evident in bricklaying, bricklayers are earning way above the national average. Currently sitting around £42,034 a year! This is a great increase for those who have been working in this industry for years.

At Able Skills, we have many different courses depending on your level of skill in the trade and your overall knowledge. The courses work like stages of becoming fully qualified. Obviously, to begin with, if you have no particular experience whatsoever then you would ideally start with introductory bricklaying courses by taking our 5-day Introduction to Bricklaying Course.
