Offering courses for several different trades, today we discuss what one of our many gas courses can do for you.

At some point in our lives, whether it be through work, sport or hobby, we started out as a beginner. The aim is to move from such stage as quickly as we can with the intention to become an expert in the given field. Our New Entrant Gas Training Package 3 is most certainly one which will take those with little to no previous experience with domestic plumbing or gas work, to breaking through the door of the industry on the 7 week course. Sound good? Let's see exactly whats covered in the 7 weeks and what happens after.

  • Comprehensive gas and plumbing training
  • Training in all areas of domestic gas safety
  • We will provide a work placement to build evidence for a mandatory portfolio
  • Boiler Fault Finding / Heating Controls and Wiring Course
  • We will provide assessment for the purposes of achieving your Core Gas Safety (CCN1) and related appliances, certificated by BPEC.

Our gas courses follow a detailed plan and this 7 week course is taught with the following structure:

Stage 1 – Training

Topics include:

  • Training on aspects of health and safety relevant within the gas industry, including asbestos awareness
  • Training to work safely around electrical systems
  • Training in the use of copper and low carbon steel so that your pipe skills are established at an acceptable standard.
  • Training on heating controls, Airing cupboard and radiator installation practices
  • Training in all areas of domestic gas safety

Stage 2 - Work Placement (Portfolio Completion) - Work based Competence and Gas Portfolios

Stage 3 – Boiler Fault Finding / Wiring and Controls Course

Stage 4 - ACS (Approved Certification Scheme) - Core Domestic Gas Safety including Appliances

gas coursesStudents can expect both hands on and classroom based learning lead by our industry served Gas Engineer Teachers on such gas courses.

When studying on such course, students can expect to achieve their Bpec Foundation Certificate (Domestic Gas Safety) which is a requirement to ensure knowledge of changes to legislation, British Standards and industry best practice.
