There may be increasing demand for electrician training courses in the future if the popularity of feed-in tariffs (FITs) continues.

According to BusinessGreen, 11,352 generators have been installed in the six months to October that the initiative has been in place.

Technicians who have completed electrician training courses may have been required to assist in the set-up of the devices, which have been more popular than expected, reported the online resource.

"About 44MW of renewable capacity was added after the tariffs came into force in April this year ... [which is] enough to power about 35,000 homes," it added.
