We are proud to be back after the lockdown period, helping students develop and learn to become competent, professional electricians. We aim to provide a socially distanced, safe and reliable space for aspiring traders to gain the valuable skills and knowledge they need to start a successful career in the trade. We offer a range of Electrician courses and host almost every aspect of training any electrician could possibly need. One skill that electricians may want to understand is PAT testing or Portable Appliance Testing - This is testing electrical equipment to ensure that they are safe to use. We currently have dates available in September, October and November of this year!

What is PAT Testing?
Portable appliance testing (PAT) is the process of examining and testing devices and electrical appliances to ensure that they are safe to use and will not cause problems after prolonged use such as electrical fires. Most electrical safety defects can be found by visual examination but some types of defect can only be found by testing. Our course here at Able Skills is just 2-days long but will be intensive and cover a huge range of topics including; safety regulations, role and responsibilities, insulation and earthing, classification of appliances, preliminary inspection, test precautions and much more!
What dates are available?
This is a very busy time for us here at Able Skills. There are a lot of people coming out of lockdown, furloughed or otherwise looking to put the year behind them and start working towards a new and exciting career. There is so much opportunity for people with trade skills out in the industry. The dates currently available are for weekdays starting from; 24th of September, 15th of October and the 12th of November as seen below...

You are also welcome to come into our office and pay us a visit in person, our door is always open for aspiring traders 7-days a week. No appointment or call ahead needed, simply come and talk to us between the hours of 8:30 - 16:30!
Live too far away? If you live a considerable distance from our centre here in Dartford, Kent then you may be interested in acquiring some accommodation for the duration of your electrician courses. We have our own accommodation available exclusively for our students, located just a short walk away. Accommodation can be booked for the reasonable price of £20 per night! - If you're interested make sure to contact us ahead of when your course is due to start as spaces are limited!
