More information has been published on Ecobuild 2013, the construction sustainability conference that will bring many of the world’s top sustainability experts to ExCeL London in March.

Confirmed speakers at the three-day event include John Alker, the director of policy and communications at the UK Green Building Council, the International Sustainability Alliance’s Phil Buttery, and number of representatives from technical and management support services conglomerate, AECOM.

Ecobuild’s Tom Broughton said that a one-day conference stream will take place midway through the event – on Wednesday, 6 March – to launch Ecobuild’s Sustainability Overseas conference.

“We are excited about the opportunities Sustainability Overseas will bring to Ecobuild, showcasing sustainability best practice from around the world and helping to broaden thinking,” he explained. “This important addition to our highly acclaimed conference programme not only strengthens the international proposition at Ecobuild UK, but also forms part of our wider international launch plans.”

Ecobuild UK will see the launch of several new international initiatives, including Global Clients, which will bring together construction clients working in different sectors and countries to understand, unite and showcase common challenges and opportunities.

Broughton added, “Building upon the anchor event in London, international expansion plans next year will see the Ecobuild community land in China, India and Malaysia. This development reflects the needs of visitors, exhibitors and local markets as Ecobuild strives to connect the thinking behind the ever changing dynamics of the global sustainability agenda.”
