Embarking on an electrical training course could be a good way of resisting the effects of the economic downturn, as Europe's largest provider of natural ventilations solutions has posted record-breaking figures in the UK for the first eight months of this year.

Despite the recession, WindowMaster - part of the VKR group which employs around 15,000 people in more than 40 countries - has seen growth in a number of sectors, but particularly in school building.

UK and Ireland market manager Richard Arnott said that the firm is happy with its own performance so far this year, which he believes is set to continue for the remainder of 2009 and into 2010.

"Our performance in the UK has been driven by the education sector. The order pipeline is looking robust," he stated.

Mr Arnott added that the company has completed 15 large prestigious education projects in the past few months, including the Liverpool John Moores School of Art and Design, Bristol Merchants Academy and Leicester Gateway College.
