Technicians on plumbing courses may find that Land Securities' plans for 2011 lead to new job opportunities.

The construction giant announced its half-yearly financial results this week and revealed it intends to carry out work on three properties in London.

Engineers who have completed plumbing courses by the time work starts at 123 Victoria Street, 110 Cannon Street and 60 Ludgate Hill may find their expertise is needed during the development process.

Land Securities noted that 2010 has been a busy year for the company, with One New Change opening in London, Trinity Leeds commencing construction and several other projects making progress.

"We have committed significant capital to developments and it is already driving returns with a valuation uplift on our development programme of just under ten per cent," commented chief executive Francis Salway.

Last week, the company published a guide to 'greening' a retail space and pointed out that it could save firms money to implement certain environmental improvements.
