A young apprentice has been given the chance to develop his skills on a major construction site.

Nathan Taylor, 19, from Whetstone, began his path to success when he took on two weeks’ worth of work experience at a construction project based at Leicester Science Park.

At the end of the two weeks, the site team were so impressed by Nathan’s work and attitude that they invited him to stay on in a paid capacity until the job was completed, six months down the track.

Following that six month stretch, during which time he earned respect among his colleagues for his dedication and commitment to the job, Nathan was taken on by a major construction firm as an apprentice and is currently working on a new project – the University of Nottingham's amenities building at Sutton Bonington.
