Women have been told to study engineering and science-related qualifications in order to secure green jobs, which could increase take-up of electrical courses.

Damien Dallamagne, founder of management consultant Innergic, told delegates at the Promoting Green Jobs: Ministerial Conference that women are ideally suited to such work, as they are able to multi-task.

He explained that environmental innovation involves considering a variety of aspects at the same time, making ladies prime candidates for such roles, according to Greenwise Business.

This encouragement could inspire more female technicians to sign up for electrical courses, in order to put themselves in a good position to apply for green jobs.

Mr Dallamagne advised youngsters that they can prepare for getting into similar work by studying science and technology subjects at school.

One company that has taken sustainability issues seriously is Jaguar, which unveiled a concept supercar capable of reaching speeds of up to 200 miles per hour without releasing carbon emissions, the same online resource reported.
