Plumbers are seeing a 4.5% weekly earnings increase!

Thinking about starting a career in plumbing? There has never been a better time to start! Here at Able Skills we have been teaching Plumbing courses here at our training centre for 20-years! We have seen many changes and developments in the industry during that time. The recent increase in demand and earnings for plumbers are we lift restrictions and vaccinate the country is fantastic for the industry!

The increase in demand is huge. According to a recent study, the average weekly earnings for plumbers increased to £967 during May, a rise of 4.5% on the previous month. Obviously an individual plumbers salary will depend on a few things like hours worked, type of work, how much they charge if they are self-employed, reputation and so on. However, the overall average is going up!
Why are earnings on the increase?
There are so many factors to consider. One major reason is the lack of skilled workers. A low amount of skilled professional's means that companies are willing to pay more for the qualified people that are out there. This has only increased with the impact of people leaving the UK ahead of the EU Settlement Scheme deadline on June 30.
Another huge thing to consider is the lifting of lockdown restrictions. Many construction projects have resumed and many people are wanting to get household issues fixed now during the summer. Especially as we can begin to have large gatherings once again. There is plenty of work around. The government has committed to a lot of infrastructure spending. Plus new projects are being announced every day such as meeting housing goals and much more!
