Students working towards achieving their electrical qualification!

Students working towards achieving their electrical qualification!
Here at Able Skills, our first group of electrical students since lockdown are now approaching the end of their City & Guilds Level 2 Electrician course! Lockdown was and still is a strange time for all of us, however, we are extremely happy to be back in action and to have a group of students complete a qualification again at our centre. These students have done really well and have made amazing progress since starting over 6-weeks ago...
They are now completing the final stages of the course and working towards their final practical assessments in the coming weeks. Most of these students will be progressing to our City & Guilds Level 3 Electrician course as these two are generally the best way to kick-start a career in the trade, these two qualifications will give you a competent understanding of the fundamentals of the trade and overall teach you to become an efficient electrician from start to finish!
As you can see in the video above students on these electrician courses will have their own space or workstation to learn and develop within. We believe that the best way to learn is to get stuck in, which is why our training has a heavy focus on gaining hands-on practical experience accompanied by classroom-based theory sessions, during which you'll learn the science behind electrical installations. There are no better courses around to start out, you'll learn so much about the theory of Electrics and generally about the industry as a whole. Our instructors will be there to help you the entire journey giving you advice, one-on-one help, inside knowledge and lessons they learnt themselves out on the job!

What's next?
After completing both our City & Guilds Level 2 & Level 3 qualifications you may be thinking, what additional knowledge or qualifications you'll need before you can start working professionally. Firstly, you will need to gain an understanding of the latest wiring regulations also known as the 18th Edition. The wiring regulations are the regulations of electrical installations making sure that everyone in the industry is carrying out installations safely and to industry-standard. Our 5-day 18th Edition course will help you to gain familiarity and a solid understanding of what is required of you during installations.
You may also want to obtain some knowledge on PAT Testing or Portable Appliance Testing. Further from that, once you start working you will eventually want to be assessed for an NVQ or National Vocational Qualification. Our NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification is achieved via work/site-based assessment and portfolio building and AM2. We have our own dedicated AM2 Centre unlike most private training providers, which will really test your skills as you move towards becoming a fully qualified, Approved Electrician.
