Time to get your Gas Appliances checked

At this time of year it is vitally important you have all gas appliances checked and given the thumbs up to be able to use them safely.

Christmas is the time of year that lots of people will be using all their gas appliances probably more than usual. It is vitally important that all the appliances in your home have been checked and are safe to use.

Gas Safety is huge and lots of people are unaware of the dangers it can bring. Around the Christmas and winter periods most homes will be cooking hot meals with their gas cookers, heating up their homes with their heaters and using other gas appliances such as hot water. However, many are unaware that these should be checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer to make sure they are all working as they should be.

Using unsafe gas appliances can have very bad affects, such as, gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. These can all be life threatening and some people will not realise this before it is too late.

Christmas is the most dangerous time of the year when it comes to gas safety in the UK, according to data found from the Gas Safe Register. This is exactly why homeowners should be getting their gas appliances checked long before the turkey goes in the oven.
