What is the 2391-52 Electrician course?

We have recently noticed some confusion surrounding our Level 3 Inspection and Testing courses, also known as 2391-52! This qualification is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training. This course alone does not make you an electrician in any way, this is simply an additional qualification for electricians, a more advanced qualification that looks deeper into the skill of first inspecting an electrical installation and testing for problems. The course is 6-days long and covers a lot of tasks such as; safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations, requirements for initial verification of electrical installations and much more...

What is the 2391-52 Electrician course?

Why should I take this course?

This course is not for everybody and definitely isn't for somebody with a weak knowledge of electrics. This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally install and carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing on electrical installations which is a vital and an essential skill for electricians across the board. As a working electrician who currently holds a Level 2 in Inspection and Testing this course would be a logical step if your goal is to achieve a level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations - Which is is a prestige qualification which is reflected in the challenging nature of the course and assessment and is one of the most advanced tests an electrician can pass.

What will I learn?

The Level 3 course combines all of the elements of Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing. This course is a theory-based learning experience completed through exams on the theory and a practical examination comprising of a full Initial verification and a Periodic inspection (combined within the same assessment) of a three-phase electrical installation, including completion of all appropriate documentation. The 6-days will be very intensive and include a variety of topics like; requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service, the safety of systems and equipment prior to completion of the inspection and testing & commissioning, the differences between periodic inspections and initial verifications and loads more. The instructor will go through everything that you will be expected to know about Inspection and Testing on both new and existing installations.
