Workers who have gained their approved gas qualifications could find they benefit from a new event being held by the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM).
According to Energy and Utility Skills, the body is celebrating its new grade of membership, which was made available to all tradespersons on the Gas Safe Register earlier this year, by hosting an official launch event on May 6th.
The occasion will include speeches from "highly-experienced and knowledgeable speakers" who will highlight the value of professional recognition to workers and companies.
Commenting on the news, IGEM chief executive Andy Wagg said: "Broadening our membership scope to recognise the value and technical expertise of engineers engaged in the installation and maintenance downstream of the meter is a historical achievement."
Workers who have taken a gas course and want to apply for membership should contact the organisation, according to Energy and Utility Skills.
IGEM was formed in 1863 and aims to promote gas safety in industry and the home.
