Here at our training centre we teach a lot of students...Each of these individuals have their own reasons for getting involved. Whether that be that they are young and looking to start a career or they are looking for some DIY skills, gaining more advanced training and even to completely change of career paths. Today we will be taking a look at how some of our previous students took the initiative to gain comprehensive training that they used to switch careers! 2020 could be the year that you make that change for the better!

Carl:
Carl, 27 was working at a call centre for many years and was beginning to grow tired of the mundane nature of his job, although he was always friendly and genuine over the phone he was beginning to consider a new job. After searching online he read about people becoming self-employed plumbers and knowing a few friends in the industry furthered his interest. Finally he took that leap of faith and gave us a call. After successfully completing our City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course he began working for a local company in the traditional 'gig' style and was enjoying it. After such as pleasant experience learning with our help he came back to complete an NVQ with the watch of one of our assessors. After working for a year, still thinking about the idea of self-employment he returned again in January 2019 to take on our Qualified Plumber Gas Training Package 2 as many plumbers do and is now working as a successful self-employed Plumber and Gas Safe Registered Engineer!
James:
James, 38 was a long distance courier and enjoyed it very much but thought that as he was getting older he should maybe switch roles and begin to do something more active. Having always had an interest in electrics he thought about becoming a traditional domestic electrician. After taking a look online he settled on our training centre due to the great reviews and feedback online - After doing some research he contacted us about enrolling on our Domestic Electrical Part-P Package which helped James to gain an overall insight into life in this type of work. This is the ideal starting point on the journey to becoming a competent person. The course is delivered using a blended learning approach, mixing theory and practical, keeping you engaged at all times. Upon completion he is now carrying out electrical installations in domestic premises and feeling more active and earning more than he did previously!
