How to approach changing your career through Electrician courses!

Considering a change in direction? These are strange times and it is obvious that the pandemic has had a massive effect on workplaces across the country. Over 9-Million Brits are still on furlough right now, just under 200,000 people were made redundant from their jobs and generally there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding employment at the moment. One industry that doesn't seem to be showing any signs of slowing down is the trade industry, with many tradesmen and women even reporting that they have more clients now than ever before! Let's take a look at how you could start working towards a new, successful career with our electrician courses...

electrical courses

Our Electrical Courses are City & Guilds Accredited. This means that we can provide industry-recognised qualifications.

Where would I start?

If you are serious about becoming a fully qualified electrician then you should consider our all in one package, also known as our Gold Card Approved Electrician Package. This is a collection of electrical courses is hard to beat as it includes almost every course that we offer from an electrical point of view. Upon completion of this course you would be completely ready to begin working on-site as a professional electrician. You will also be prepared to achieve JIB Gold Card status, meaning you can obtain a gold CSCS card that represents the holder can work unsupervised on the installation, commissioning and maintenance of electronic appliances and is effectively an 'approved electrician'.

Which courses are included?

This package of courses is comprehensive and will teach you to become an electrician from scratch. In total the whole collection of courses will take around 16-weeks to complete. Starting with our City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical course which is 7-weeks of training consisting of a mix of both classroom-based theory and practical experience out in our workshops. From there you will have a solid foundation of knowledge to work from as you progress onto our City & Guilds Level 3 course which is an additional 7-weeks of training. Following on from these two qualifications you will look to take on the following courses...

To achieve 'Gold Card' status you will need to have achieved an NVQ or National Vocational Qualification and to do so you will need to be working on-site already. We will send an Able Skills assessor to your place of work on two separate occasions to test your competence on the job. So, of course this means that after taking on the AM2 assessment here at our centre you will need to go on and find work in the industry before being tested for your NVQ.
